BP & Associates, Inc. is involved with WLC Architects as the Master Design Consultant for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Engineering for West Contra Costa Unified School District, which encompasses the Cities of San Pablo, El Cerrito, Richmond, Pinole, El Sobrante, Hercules, and Kensington, California. The project is a direct result of the County’s recent passing of the Measure “M” and “D” and “J” Bonds, allocating $800 Million for District Master Planning, including growth and modernization work for 56 of the District’s Elementary, Middle and High Schools . The various projects included in the Master Plan will be implemented in several Phases over a likely 10-year period.
The work performed for this project included the following:
- Detailed site evaluation for the each existing school facility
- Needs assessment reports for each facility
- Proposition for new systems for each site
- Assisted in cost estimating for proposed systems
- Establish district standards for mechanical and plumbing systems
- Provided schematic design documents for each facility and provided them to local design team
- Oversaw local design teams during the design phase of each project including providing constructability reviews
- Provided complete design for two new high schools
This effort included several meetings with maintenance and operations staff, other district personnel, consultants, architect and teaching staff BP & Associates, Inc. was awarded these prestigious projects from amongst an elite group of Engineering firms, primarily for its demonstrated expertise in the design of Educational Facilities, and its past efforts in assisting numerous School Districts in development of Engineering and Construction standards for their Mechanical and Plumbing systems. BP & Associates is a recognized industry leader in the areas of Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Engineering for K-12 Growth and Modernization projects.
